Hever Castle Luxury B&B
Surrounded by gorgeous Kent countryside, doubled-moated Hever Castle is one of the most celebrated of English castles and is famous as the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. Now you can not only explore this magnificent building, but also spend the night at the luxurious and atmospheric B&B within the grounds. In the early 20th century William Waldorf Astor restored Hever Castle to its former glory, adding two Edwardian buildings designed in Tudor Style, the Astor Wing and Anne Boleyn Wing. The 28 luxury bedrooms within these wings are individually styled, with no two rooms alike. Some feature four-poster beds, views of the castle and roll-top baths. All bedrooms enjoy modern comforts such as top-notch beds and gleaming bathrooms alongside antique furnishings and original period features. For relaxing outside the room, enjoy the intimate panelled lounge with sofas, books and magazines or the exquisite billiard room with its cavernous fireplace. All guests are offered complimentary access to the Castle and gardens each day of their visit. Guests are given out of hours access to the grounds - a highlight of any stay. If the Castle is closed while the B&B is open, then a private tour will be arranged before departure. The breakfasts, served in the vaulted Tudor Suite or Anne Boleyn Wing Dining Room, are excellent. On-site cafes and restaurants are available for lunch, and the village pub is an excellent option for evening meals. For special celebrations and weddings the entire Astor Wing can also be rented on an exclusive basis. The gardens are a joy to explore, as is the lake with its Italian Loggia and Japanese Tea House. Nearby are a host of other attractions, including Churchill’s Chartwell and to continue the Tudor adventure, Penshurst Place, where scenes from Wolf Hall and The Other Boylen Girl were shot.
