Kings Head Cirencester
The Kings Head Hotel in Cirencester is the perfect blend of historic charm with contemporary comfort and style.
Nestled in Cirencester’s historic centre, The Kings Head served as a coaching inn as early as the 14th century. The building’s long history shines through in a host of period details from the Elizabeth, Georgian and Victorian eras, not to mention a Roman mosaic discovered by chance during the hotel’s seven-year renovation. Elegant chandeliers, exposed stonework, comfy furniture, fresh flowers and stunning wall art create a contemporary, cosy and welcoming atmosphere.
The bedrooms are spacious, stylish and attractive, and the period features and designer furniture give each room its own flavour and personality. Calming earth tones, tartan throws and plush sofas decorate the individually styled rooms, and each is equipped with Nespresso machines, Wi-Fi, Mac Mini computer system and personal mini fridge.
The restaurant offers classic British cuisine with a contemporary twist. Head Chef Russell Hunt seeks out the finest local suppliers to create his seasonal menus. Meat, including beef from Butts Farm of Cirencester and Gloucester Old Spot pork, is cooked over hot stones on the Robata grill and the open kitchen allows you to see your chef and his team at work. Whether you opt for the set three-course dinner or the relaxed Lounge Menu, the food is delicious and is perfectly complemented by an excellent wine list. The bar is a favourite with locals as well as guests, and the cocktails are highly recommended.
A visit to the stunning Vaulted Spa is a must. Scented candles, exposed Cotswold stone and a calming atmosphere make this a tranquil below ground haven. The signature treatments from Lubatti and MONU are luxurious and indulgent. In addition to the four treatment rooms, you can relax in the hot tub, sauna, steam room, experience shower, fitness suite and relaxation room.
The Kings Head is ideally situated for exploring Cirencester’s charming centre, including famous markets, not to mention Regency Cheltenham and its Racecourse and nearby Cotswolds villages such as Bibury and Burford.
